God isn’t magical!

Take a second and let that sink in! Next, God can’t do everything!

In the book of John 1:1

“Logos” doesn’t just mean “word.”

That’s the Sunday-school translation.

The Greek λόγος (logos) actually means:

• reason

• logic

• structure

• order

• rational principle

• the underlying pattern of reality

• the universal mind

• the logic by which all things exist

This is why:

• logic

• logical

• biology

• psychology

• astrology

• chronology

…all share the same root.

Logos = structure + reason + logic.

John 1 is not saying:

“In the beginning was speech.”

He’s saying:

“In the beginning was Logic itself.”

“Logic was with God.”

“Logic was God.”

“Through Logic all things were made.”

God cannot create a round square, a married bachelor or any other contradicting terms.

God cannot do contradictions.

Not because He’s weak, but because contradictions aren’t things — they’re nonsense.

A round square is not a strange shape.

It’s an impossibility.

It does not exist in any realm, physical or spiritual.

There is no such “thing” for God to create.

Same with a married bachelor.

Same with a four-sided triangle.

Same with a “free robot.”

Same with a “predestined free will.”

And here’s the part almost nobody is taught:

If God is Logos, then God does not act against logic —

He acts through it.

Because Logic is His very nature.

This means something most believers never consider:

God cannot create an unfree being.

Not because He is limited,

but because “unfree consciousness” is a contradiction —

the same category as “square circle.”

You can create a machine without freedom.

You can create an animal without self-awareness.

But the moment God creates a being

a mind, a soul, a consciousness —

freedom is baked in.

Freedom isn’t a special gift God chooses to add.

Freedom is what it means to be a being at all.

A consciousness without freedom isn’t consciousness.

It’s automation.

Programming.

A puppet.

That’s not a son or daughter.

That’s not an image-bearer.

That’s not relationship.

That’s not love.

It’s no different than carving a statue and pretending it loves you.

If God wanted children, not statues…

companions, not props…

relationship, not control…

Then freedom is the only thing He could create.

There is no alternative — no such thing as a “free puppet.”

That’s another round square.

And if freedom is real,

then risk is real.

Love without risk is not love.

Obedience without choice is not obedience.

Goodness without the possibility of evil is not goodness — it’s default settings.

Once you understand this, everything changes:

• God didn’t “allow evil.”

• God allowed freedom, and evil became possible.

• God didn’t “plan suffering.”

• God planned beings, and beings can make a mess.

• God didn’t “predestine everything.”

• He created a real world, not a script.

• God isn’t magically overriding logic.

• He is the Logic through which reality stands.

The future is open because freedom is real.

And freedom is real because God is Logos.

That’s the whole structure.
